We saw a bear

We were driving into Jasper for the first time and on 93A just before it crosses 16.  The bear was in the ditch on the left side of the road, so we passed it and stopped the car.  It crossed the road right behind our car, and continued up the bank, ignoring us, turning huge rocks over while it looked for grubs to eat.  It was a grizzly bear, and the strength of it's forearms was impressive as it easily turned large rocks upside down by batting them with huge, clawed paws.  I took several photos. The strangest part was that someone on a bicycle rode by not two minutes later.  I think the bears at this time of the year are not too interested in people, rather looking for food, and I'm hoping that as long as we leave them alone, they will leave us alone as we hike through Jasper.

The Weather

Well, It's not looking good for the first few days of our Canadian Rockies Vacation.   I'm hoping it blows right on through or at least the rain is not an all day event. Just in case, packed a poncho.
